Golden Granola the kids love

INGREDIENTS (makes 2-3 medium jars)

  • 6 cups rolled oats

  • 3 Tablespoons chia

  • 3/4 cup chopped almonds

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

  • 1 Tablespoon hemp seeds

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1.5 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • 2 Tablespoons ground flaxseeds

  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup maple syrup (or half maple syrup half honey )

  • 3/4 cup coconut oil (melted)

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees celcius

  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl

  3. Sprinkle over vanilla essence

  4. Melt honey and coconut oil in a pan over low heat

  5. Pour wet mix over the dry mix and stir well until all of the dry mixture is moistened.

  6. Line oven tray with baking paper

  7. Tip granola mix into the oven tray and press down slightly into the tray

  8. Bake for 22-24 mins (at 175 degrees celcius). After 10 mins into baking, stir the mixture with a spoon and press mixture down slightly into tray.

  9. Once granola is golden (don’t overcook), remove from the oven and allow to cool fully

  10. Place into air tight containers and enjoy!
